Figuring out how to play games with my kids has been a chore, because the variance in age ranges has always meant that I had enthusiastic older kids wanting to play, and not-quite-mature-enough younger kids ready to steal turns, move chips, and hulk-smash the whole operation. We’ve finally gotten to a stage where we can enjoy a few table games, and much of it was about finding the right games for younger kids. I decided to do a round-up of some of our favorites over at Babble . . . one for the 4-7 set, and one for games that older kids play that are actually fun for adults, too.
What if your kids aren’t coordinated enough to hold cards, roll dice, or add 5 + 5? This post shares my favorite table games that we play with our 4 year-old.
Here are a few the older kids have started to enjoy…and which are fun and strategic enough that I don’t mind playing with them.
