Partnering with Rage Against the Minivan

Thanks for your interest in featured your product or brand on Rage Against the Minivan.  A recent study estimated that bloggers have more sway than celebrities in terms of influencing purchases.  Product endorsements via social media are a relatively new idea, but the trusted relationship bloggers have with their readers can be just as effective as a tv spot, as more and more moms are engaging in blog-reading as their time to unwind.  Rage Against the Minivan currently has about 400,000 - 500,000 pageviews each month, and could be a great venue to highlight your product, service, or website.

Here are some ways you can partner:

Product Reviews:

My blog is not a review site, and as such, I do not usually write posts with the goal of highlighting products or events.  I work very hard to maintain the narrative on my site as one of storytelling, parenting advice, and humor, with a little advocacy sprinkled in.  I believe my dedication to maintaining my voice is one reason my blog remains a popular online destination for moms.  While I realize there are any number of blogs that bill themselves as "PR friendly" and that are happy to publish product reviews, press releases or product specs, I am also confident that such blogs rarely maintain a large and loyal audience.  I've worked hard to create a well-read, content-rich blog and I try to maintain this same level of quality with brand sponsorships as well.  On occasional I will do a review of a product or service that I believe is relevant to a broad audience, but this is rare.  A few examples have included the HP TouchSmart, the Windows Phone, and the BabbaBox service.  Product reviews start at $2000 and I only do a few of these each year. For most products, I would recommend partnering through sponsored content posts.

Sponsored Content Posts:

If you are interested in partnering in a way that is mutually beneficial, I am confident that exposure on Rage Against the Minivan can give you a good return on your investment and recommend considering partnering through a sponsored content post.  Sponsored posts start at $1500. A sponsored post involves organic content that aligns with the typical content of my blog (parenting, motherhood, etc), which includes product messaging and a logo at the top and/or bottom of the page.  I can work with you to try to taper the content to fit your brand thematically. Some examples of sponsored content posts include campaigns I did with Proctor and GambleGoGoSqueez applesauceGlad storage containers, and Chase Bank.  If this is of interest to you, I would encourage you to visit these links to see the way that a product can be weaved into organic content without looking like a product pitch, while still providing excellent branding and inspiration for consumer purchase.

Product Mentions / Friday Finds / Gift Guides
If sponsoring a post is out of your budget, there are some ways to have your product featured on Rage Against the Minivan in an organic, lifestyle setting. When I receive products that I like, I typically feature them as a product mention within a post.  An example of this is a post in which I wrote about a craft and photographed the girls wearing Pippen Lane dresses.  In addition, each Friday I do a round-up of products I like. If you would like to submit a product for inclusion, please email ragingassistant (at) gmail.com.

Occasionally, I do gift guides recommending products that I have tried, and also feature a list of products I like every Friday.  Past gift guides have included Christmas gifts, Mother's Day gifts, summer toys, and children's shoes.  Please contact to me to see if I am writing a gift guide that might be a fit for your product.

Giveaways:

I don't do many giveaways, because they require a good deal of administration, but I do them occasionally if it's a product I believe will be of great interest and value to readers and myself.  Giveaways are a great way to generate buzz for a product.  I charge an administration fee of $200 to run a giveaway, and also require a sample of the product for review prior to the giveaway.  I usually only do giveaways for products above $50 in value.  I use Rafflecopter for all giveaways to ensure that entries are counted correctly and randomly chosen.
